I don't get it

I keep reading women posting things on facebook about how it's not fair that their husbands get to go out with his friends while they stay home and watch the kids.  Meanwhile when the wife goes out with her friends she has to take the kids with her.  Really?  What kind of man did you marry?  And if it bothers you this much then why are you still married to him?  I could not imagine a life where I was the only one caring for my child while my spouse  was out having a good old time with his buddies.  Not in my house!   We are parents and we take care of our child together.  It's really that simple.

I also have a friend who doesn't want to know the sex of the baby until it's born.  Now I understand that train of thought if you already have a boy and girl.  However, if this is your first baby why would you want to wait?  Don't say you want it to be a surprise.  It is already a surprise whether you find out today or in 6 months.  It's only the biggest event of your entire life, wouldn't you want to be prepared?  Sure, you can buy gender neutral clothes.  You can decorate your nursery in monkey's.  BORING!  Basically you are buying gender neutral clothes and then when you end up having a baby girl you spend twice as much as you should have and less stuff because instead of slowly buying things over the course of a few months and looking for good deals you end up panicking and buying everything all at once for full price so people don't mistake your precious baby girl for a boy.

Speaking of gender.  I read this article about a couple who kept their child's gender a secret until he was 5.  This is the funny part.  They said they didn't want him to feel pressured one way or the other but they forbid him to wear any overly masculine clothes, like skulls but they encourage him to wear super feminine clothes like swimsuits with pink sparkles.  LOL  It's actually not funny.  It's very sad.  It's especially said that this couple is so anti men.  I wonder if they were lesbians?  I need to go back to look that up because I'm pretty sure the article kept using the term partner.  It one were to be truly in support of gender neutrality then they would embrace both pink sparkles and skulls.

Now let's talk about something much happier.
1. Justified is on tonight and that show is totally awesome.
2. I have the best recipe for potato soup ever.  It's crock pot potato soup.  I found it on Pinterest.  It has cream cheese in it.
3. Josh Lucas is so hot.  I want to modify my hot guy list to include him.

Jennifer says I have a thing for blue eyed guys.  This is a new development.  I blame my husband.  He has the most amazing blue eyes.

That is all.
